The Traps Binding the Muslim

The trap on all Islamists from all over the world, thinking that imposing the laws of Allah in the(ir) countries is the solution to all problems. If you do not have a viable economic policies, you can't build a prosperous country by only relying on Sharia and the will of Allah. Allah will never change the conditions of a country until they themselves change it.

The second trap of a lot of Islamists and Muslims everywhere: if anything is wrong or problematic, blame it on the America, the Jews or the "West". Even if the problem is very much our own creations or has no relationship whatsoever with these 'evil powers'.

The third trap of the Muslims and Islamists everywhere is trying to force their versions/interpretations of Islam on other people; verbally, intellectually, politically and sometimes literally i.e through violence or terrorist acts.

Example in hand, just because the Moderate Islamists An-Nahda has won the Tunisian election, you can't expect them to start by banning everything deemed unIslamic on a society who has grown up, been governed, educated and largely identifiesthemselves under a Secular anti Islamic ideologies for more than half a century. 60 years to be exact, from Bourgiba to Ben Ali.

The imposition of the Sharia in the current state of the Tunisian society will amount to compulsion, which against one of the core teachings in Islam; There is no compulsion in religion.

If we do indeed expect the new leaders of Tunisia to start banning things unIslamic, instead of deposing a corrupt dictator, the people's revolution will merely replaces a dictator with another dictator, but with a title change; the new dictator will be labelled Islamic.

The fourth trappings of Muslims and Islamists; seeing the world in the perspective "us versus them" never "us with them".
Anyone who has not the same ideologies, faiths or beliefs to us, they are the enemies and we have to wage "holy war" against them. Wahhhabis/Salafis versus Traditionalists/Sufis, Sunni versus Shia, Muslim versus Christian, Jews, Hindus etcetra etcetra.

We knows the existence of the ayah "O mankind! We have created you from a male and a female, and made you into nations and tribes, that you may know one another. Verily, the most honourable of you with Allah is that (believer) who conscious of God. Verily, Allah is All-Knowing, All-Aware." Quran 49:13

The fifth traps of a Muslim and Islamists; Giving undue and excessive importance on outward appearances. We end up having people who have the looks and appearance of a good Muslim but with Jahiliyyah (unIslamic) manners. We have to constantly remind ourselves on the hadith narrated by Abu Hurairah (ra):

The Messenger of Allah (sa) said, “Undoubtedly, Allah does not look at your appearance or wealth, but rather He looks at your hearts and actions.” Then he pointed with his fingers to his chest.
